Loving the challenges at SCS!

I admit I hadn't played much on SCS but I seem to making up for lost time!  I am loving the different daily challenges and hope to go back and do some I missed.

This was a sketch challenge for the Clean and Simple category.  Nothing fussy, fancy, or difficult allowed.  I think this fits the bill.

Mixed media attempt

This was for  a challenge over at SCS.  Not sure it is something I would do again, but it was interesting.

Gesso and newspaper background, then smeared with Distress inks.

Soft and delicate

I love these colours together.  Those vintage roses fro Stampin Up are gorgeous, I will need to buy more.
The dress form is part of a clear set from My Minds Eye.  Lots of vintage type things in it.

Blowing off the dust!

I haven't posted a card here in two years! Oh my.  I need to get back on this horse and post some things.

I have been caught in the Pinterest vortex and get so much inspiration there.  Classroom ideas, cards and recipes.  Here a few creations I made this past month or so.

For Myra - a dear soul was lost to us.   We will miss you.

Baby's First Birthday

It's been a while!

Here are some cards I have made in the last few months.

I haven't had time to get inky at all lately! My studies will be over July 23 so look out!!!

This is a baby card I made at Stampin' Up club night. That is the only time I get to play it seems.

This is a Zindorf style card I made for a friend whose dad passed away. I used a sponge rather than the brayer because I knew I couldn't get it round enough with a brayer.

The grass stamp is SU's Inspired by Nature. The sentiment is frm MSE.

Popeil Pocket Fisherman

This card just reminded me of that little fold up fishing rod that was advertised on TV many years ago.

I think it will make a great card for my FIL's birthday.

Playing with Outlines Stamps

I have had this Outlines stamp for 6 months and finally put it to use. I only stamped it twice, and just cut the inside layers that would not show, to get the dimentions. The colouring was done with SU watercolour crayons.

Cheery and Bright

These Doodlebug Design papers jumped off the shelf and into my hands the other day. I am in the middle of making an altered clipboard out of them too. I 'll post that when the mod podge dries.

Some more Valentine cards

I have been playing a bit more with some hearts!

This pocket heart was sent to norma for the Inkstainers mingle.

This card was made using a Stampingzoo retro heart. The background is one from the former Inkstains site.

Copy Cat!

This card is one I had to try after seeing janacb's on SCS. I followed her directions, as follows: The stamp was inked in versamark, then I took a marker and coloured the trunks and the "ground" black before I stamped it on the glosssy card stock. Then I embossed with holographic ep. The background was done after the stamping, using a cosmetic wedge. Pink, gray and navy inks were used.

Some of my latest cards

It has been a while since I posted some cards here. Christmas is over and I have started making cards to add to "my stash" and trying some new stamps.

This card uses the StampinUp Apple Cider paper and the true Friend set. I think I will get a lot of use out of both!

I have been playing with some valentine pocket cards and this is one of them. I found the template on Splitcoast Stampers. I have another one made but it is for a mingle and and I don't want to spoil the surprise. I'll post it after she receives the card
